Donations: Support this Web Site

Total of the Donations so far:

Since September 11, 2002
: We have (total)
: We need (total)
Current objective: Server expenditure for 2 years.

We have invested time and money in the site in order to provide you with something of quality but after nearly five years of work the D.R.A.G.O.N.S. Web Site would appreciates your support. Our objective is simple: collect donations in order put us in a comfortable position to move ahead and purchasing more server place and other professional services as well (example: for completing the dragon's skeleton since it is beyond our artistic skills not to mention that no amongst us is that proficient with advanced 3D programs such as 3D Studio Max).

Many time in the past this site was under the wings of benefactors such as ColbaNet and up to recently the Microsoft Network that supported us for nearly 3 years and they would probably still support us if there was not a wind of change in their policies. No doubt, there are good reasons for us to believe that there is a desire from some individuals and corporations as well to support this site. Your donations will help us to improve the site and they would be viewed as a token of your appreciation for the hard work we have put in this site. Despite all, you should note that this absolutely doesn't mean that if we do not receive contributions, we will take the site offline; there is no cost in the use of libraries and museums because knowledge should always remain free and that means with or without your help, this site will always be here.

There was mention of the use advertisement before and while we pondered this option, we decided to do not use it as a source of income for the site. The reason behind this decision is simple, such move would probably ruin the site design and would probably be viewed as quite annoying for more than just a few of you, not to mention that advertising is not a reliable source of income.

One last note: while we would like to says that every dollar counts we cannot says this with very small donations (such a $1 and less) since Paypal take a large cut on these kind of contributions (Paypal takes 30 cents plus 2.9% per transaction). As shown on this graphic, on a $1 donation nearly one third would go to Paypal while on a $2 donation Paypal's cut (in percentage) drop by half.
