Vann "Piano Man" Walls jumping the blues

VAnn "Piano Man" Walls

Festival International de Jazz de Montréal
July 5, 1998

Vann "Piano Man" Walls displayed his usual wit, wisdom, and energy. Appearing on stage in a dapper white suit and carrying a fancy walking stick, he played with more energy than some performers half his age. Accompanied by the Stephen Barry Band, he declared, "When I play with these guys, I feel young again." The legendary pianist/songwriter also lent prestige to our little festival, being the only member of the Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame to appear.
