English Writing Workshop Program (40 hours per level)

The Writing Workshop program (5 levels) is designed to help students improve their writing skills and master the foundations of good writing from short writing tasks to reports. Using both listening and reading materials as input for writing, students acquire the skills to communicate effectively and accurately in written English. At each level, students produce a portfolio of work demonstrating their progress. Students should be at a low intermediate level of general English to qualify for this program.
A Certificate of Attendance showing the grade obtained is awarded to students upon successful completion (60%) of each level.
A Certificate of Proficiency is awarded upon the successful completion (60%) of Level 5.
A Certificate of Proficiency with Distinction is awarded to stdents who obtain a grade of 75% or more upon the completion of Level 5.

Program Offerings
English Writing Level 2
Students at this level use information obtained from reading, listening, and discussion to expand their writing from the one paragraph to the three paragraph essay. Students continue to write regularly in a journal in order to become more comfortable in English. Students revise their work for further development of their ideas and edit for persistent errors. Expressing clear ideas and using correct English is the goal of this course.
