    I installed win98 and when I turn it on sometimes it will come up with the error on a blue screen "A fatal exception OE has occurred at 0028:C0005338 in VXD VMM(01) + 00004338
    Press any key to continue". When I press any key it goes blank or shuts off. After I let it sit for a while then it will come back on.

    Try this go to Start/Run menu and type
    msconfig and click OK. On the General Tab click the Advanced button and check the box to Disable Fast Shutdown.
